Background
5G, the 5th Generation mobile network, is designed to connect virtually everyone and everything together including machines, objects and devices in the Internet of Things (IoT). This 5G wireless technology is meant to deliver higher multi-Gbps peak data speeds, ultra-low latency, more reliability, massive network capacity, increased availability and a more uniform user experience to more users.
It is all about high speed, low latencies and massive connectivity. It has been deployed in more than 35 plus countries with the heavy deployment in Korea, China and America. 5G is everywhere but do we know how users, business, cities, the media and broadcast industry use 5G?
How does the 5G-evolution, the latest global wireless standard, benefit the society at large? How can it impact the economy as a whole and in particular, the broadcast and media industry?
AIBD is organising a webinar for its members, especially the traditional broadcasters to understand the capabilities of 5G, what are the challenges and opportunities of living and working with 5G and what does the evolution of 5G wireless technology hold for everybody and in particular, the broadcast and media industry that can enable an even more intelligently connected future.
Mr Chetan Sharma, a leading strategist in the mobile and data industry from the United States (US) and highly sought after for his accurate predictions, independent insights and actionable recommendations, will introduce to us the topic of 5G, share his insights on the latest evolution in 5G, challenges and expectations. His session will be followed with a moderated panel discussion in the area of what 5G holds for the future of broadcasting.
