19TH ASIA MEDIA SUMMIT
The Asia Media Summit (AMS) is an annual international media conference organised by AIBD as its flagship event. Every year in consultation with the members, partners and various global media gurus, a theme guides the direction and delivery of the summit. Being a unique broadcasting event in Asia-Pacific, it attracts around 500 top-ranking broadcasters, decision makers, media professionals, regulators, scholars, and stakeholders from within and outside the region. Apart from plenary sessions and pre-summit workshops, Asia Media Summit also provides a platform for intergovernmental dialogues to uplift the benchmarks of the regional media industry.

The 38th Annual Gathering / 11th AIBD General Conference & Associated Meetings in Kathmandu, Nepal, has elected Indonesia and Bangladesh as the new General Conference President and Vice President, and Pakistan as Chair of the Executive Board.

The 38th Annual Gathering / 11th AIBD General Conference & Associated Meetings in Kathmandu, Nepal, has elected Indonesia and Bangladesh as the new General Conference President and Vice President, and Pakistan as Chair of the Executive Board.

The General Conference in Kathmandu also elected Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka as the new members of the Executive Board, in addition to the current member countries such as China, France, India, Korea and Philippines.

The 1st Pacific Media Partnership Forum was held successfully in Tonga on 20-27 August 2010. The event offered media practitioners in the region concepts and tools that will enhance capacity in various aspects of broadcasting critical in responding to the rapidly changing media landscape.

The Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC) held its 21st Annual Conference in conjunction with its 40th Anniversary, celebrating its achievements with the conference theme “Forty years of Media and Communication in Asia: Retrospect, Introspect and Prospects ” which was held in partnership with University Teknologi Mara (UiTM) from 11 to 14 July, 2012 at Shah Alam, Malaysia.

The grand opening ceremony of Myanmar Media Development Center (MMDC) was held in Yangon on July 15, 2012. MMDC has been operational since January 2012. It has already conducted four foundation courses on TV Broadcasting and is scheduled to start a Diploma in TV Broadcasting course in late July.
