19TH ASIA MEDIA SUMMIT
The Asia Media Summit (AMS) is an annual international media conference organised by AIBD as its flagship event. Every year in consultation with the members, partners and various global media gurus, a theme guides the direction and delivery of the summit. Being a unique broadcasting event in Asia-Pacific, it attracts around 500 top-ranking broadcasters, decision makers, media professionals, regulators, scholars, and stakeholders from within and outside the region. Apart from plenary sessions and pre-summit workshops, Asia Media Summit also provides a platform for intergovernmental dialogues to uplift the benchmarks of the regional media industry.

1. AMS Dates and Venue

AIBD is pleased to announce that the official dates and venue of Asia Media Summit 2017 will be June 6 – 8 at China Hall, Valley Wing Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao, China. Several Pre-summit workshops will be held 4-5 June also at Shangri-La Hotel. There will be a designated alternative hotel for accommodation – Fuxin Hotel.

2. Deadline for Registration for AMS

The deadline for AMS 2017 online registration is 10th May 2017. If you have not done this, please register online as soon as possible at the link here. We are asking for registration by the deadline for logistical purposes, and your visa application may take at least 3 weeks.

3. Hotel Booking

The discount rates for the hotels are available until 15th May 2017. After the online registration process is complete you will get an email to select the hotel of your choice with discounted rates. From 16th May 2017 standard rates apply.

4. Final Deadline for Call of Entry World TV Awards 2017

The World TV Awards are open to broadcasters worldwide (public and private).

The Winner Prize consists of US$ 5,000.00 cash, a trophy and a certificate presented by AIBD per Award category. Winners will be presented with their Awards during the Asia Media Summit 2017.

Final deadline for programme submission is 28th April 2017. Information, criteria and entry forms are available at: https://www.aibd.org.my/worldtv.

The Fijian Government has embarked on a targeted program of improving service delivery to all citizens, utilizing    technology and implement e-government are key strategies for these improved services.

The Information Technology and Computing Services (‘ITC Services’) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of applications to meet Ministry needs, particularly with regard to the improved service delivery envisioned through technology and e-government along with the overall implementation and maintenance of the Government’s IT network, infrastructure and IT Policy.

The 2016 G20 Summit will be held in Hangzhou, China on September 4th and 5th. CCTV+ is ready to provide comprehensive video feeds and pool signals of major events of the Summit to media organizations worldwide.   All the G20 news feeds will be released through GDS (www.cctvplus.com).

As China’s first global video news agency, CCTV+ (CCTV Plus), covering  international news stories, offers quality video footages, live broadcasting signals and archive to global media and production companies.   Currently, CCTV+ releases over 80 news footages, 24 hours daily, with scripts in English, French, Russian, Arabic and Spanish.  Through its online-based GDS (www.cctvplus.com) and cooperation with Associated Press and Reuters, CCTV+ provides a variety of news materials including political, economic, social and breaking news from China and the world. To date, around 1,700 channels and hundreds of online and social media in the world are using footages from CCTV+.
