Addressing Human Resource Needs in the Digital World
The Tun Abdul Razak Institute of Broadcasting and Information (IPPTAR) and the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD), with the support of the Ministry of Information, Communications and Culture (KPKK), Malaysia, is pleased to organize the 1st International Conference on Broadcast Training on 25-26 February 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the Royale Chulan Hotel. This gathering will bring more than 60 delegates from major broadcast training institutions of over 20 countries to discuss the pertinent topics facing the industry now and in the future.

This gathering will bring more than 60 delegates from major broadcast training institutions of over 20 countries to discuss the pertinent topics facing the industry now and in the future.
The two-day conference aims to contribute towards building professional capacities of broadcasters in addressing the demands and benefits of new information and communication technologies for long-term growth, greater customer satisfaction and meaningful contribution to development.
The conference theme is “Building Competencies in an Evolving Media Environment.” Six plenary sessions have been scheduled for this gathering where participants will engage in various discussions dealing with topics such as the cutting edge training tools and methodologies, creative content for programming, the challenges of HDTV, attracting and retaining talents, and addressing human resource needs as broadcast organizations migrate to digital. The last plenary session will cover the role of training institutions in the future.
In his message to the Conference, YB DATO’ SERI UTAMA DR. RAIS YATIM, Minister of Information, Communications and Culture, Malaysia hopes “this seminar will provide the tools for the senior managers of broadcasting bodies in the Asia Pacific, Arab State and the African Region to achieve organizational goals and overcome challenges in time of change.”
In her speech at the inaugural session of the Conference, DATO’ ADILAH SHEK OMAR, Director, Institute of Broadcasting and Information Malaysia (IPPTAR) says “ for the first time a conference of this nature is being held by IPPTAR and AIBD on matters pertaining to training development within broadcast training organisations. It is our job not only to sustain our organisational objectives and growth but to extend it beyond survival.”
Mr. YANG BINYUAN, Director, Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) says at the inaugural session of the Conference “broadcast training is at the core of AIBD’s engagement in Asia Pacific. We encourage media organisations to invest more in training and development in the ever-changing media landscape.”
IPPTAR and AIBD are confident that the event will be an impressive showcase for key players in broadcasting to discuss the forces shaping the industry and the path forward.
