The SPT meeting was chaired by Mr Has Sam Ath, Deputy-Director-General, Department of Administration and Finance, Ministry of Information, Cambodia.
During the meeting, AIBD Director Yang Binyuan reviewed the success of the recent Asia Media Summit 2012 and its pre-summit workshops in Bangkok, Thailand. He introduced the substantial planning and proposals made by AIBD thus far in organizing the AMS 2013 in Manado, Indonesia including the conference theme and session/pre-summit topics.
Following this, the SPT was informed of the procedures for election of the AIBD General Conference President and Executive Board Chairperson. Finally, the SPT was briefed on the significant progress of the ABU/ASBU/AIBD Media Partnership Committee Meeting and the Pacific Partnership Committee Meeting.
The SPT meeting ended by thanking the hospitality of the hosts, Nepal Television and Radio Nepal.
The next two SPT meetings will be held at the Asia Media Summit 2013 in Manado, Indonesia, and the 39th Annual Gathering / 12th General Conference & Associated Meetings in 2013 in Yangon, Myanmar.

AIBD GC 2012 to Open
Preparations for the 38th Annual Gathering and 11th AIBD General Conference & Associated Meetings are in full swing. The GC 2012 will be held in Kathmandu, Nepal from July 25-27, 2012, hosted by Nepal Television and Radio Nepal.
PMPC 2010
The 1st Pacific Media Partnership Forum was held successfully in Tonga on 20-27 August 2010. The event offered media practitioners in the region concepts and tools that will enhance capacity in various aspects of broadcasting critical in responding to the rapidly changing media landscape.

AMIC Celebrates its 40th Anniversary
The Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC) held its 21st Annual Conference in conjunction with its 40th Anniversary, celebrating its achievements with the conference theme “Forty years of Media and Communication in Asia: Retrospect, Introspect and Prospects ” which was held in partnership with University Teknologi Mara (UiTM) from 11 to 14 July, 2012 at Shah Alam, Malaysia.
Opening of MMDC
The grand opening ceremony of Myanmar Media Development Center (MMDC) was held in Yangon on July 15, 2012. MMDC has been operational since January 2012. It has already conducted four foundation courses on TV Broadcasting and is scheduled to start a Diploma in TV Broadcasting course in late July.
Winners for AIBD Awards 2012 Announced
AIBD is pleased to announce the final winners for the AIBD TV and Radio Awards 2012. The final judging session took place 9 July 2012 at the AIBD office in Kuala Lumpur.
The panel of judges included Ms. Philomena Gnanapragasm, Senior Programme Manager at RTM Radio; Mr. Ahmad Budiman, Producer at Astro Television, Mr. Maxime Villandre, Chief Editor at IGN Asia-Pacific; and Ms. Geraldine Mouche, Programme Manager at AIBD.
IRIB Completes International Study Tour in Malaysia
A delegation of 10 senior members of the production, research, educational and training departments of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) completed an international study tour in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, hosted by AIBD and supported by IRIB, from 2-6 July 2012.
24th International URTI Radio Grand Prix Call for Entries
URTI is the first International Radio-TV Grand Prix with 81 participating countries in 2011. For its 24th edition, the International URTI Radio Grand Prix launches a call for entries on the theme: “ LOVE ”. Each organization is invited to present one or two programmes for the competition.
