The one-year extension of India’s Presidency of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) was unanimously decided by the members presented in General Conference 2022. Shri Mayank Kumar Agrawal, Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati and Director General of Doordarshan, will continue the role of president of AIBD.
The decision to extend India’s Presidency was made on September 20, 2022, during a two-day General Conference of the AIBD held in New Delhi. H.E Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, inaugurated the conference. The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. L. Murugan, also graced the event. Apurva Chandra, secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, was present alongside other authorities.
