19TH ASIA MEDIA SUMMIT
The Asia Media Summit (AMS) is an annual international media conference organised by AIBD as its flagship event. Every year in consultation with the members, partners and various global media gurus, a theme guides the direction and delivery of the summit. Being a unique broadcasting event in Asia-Pacific, it attracts around 500 top-ranking broadcasters, decision makers, media professionals, regulators, scholars, and stakeholders from within and outside the region. Apart from plenary sessions and pre-summit workshops, Asia Media Summit also provides a platform for intergovernmental dialogues to uplift the benchmarks of the regional media industry.

AIBD announces the extension of the deadline for the call of entry for the AIBD TV & Radio Awards 2013. The new deadline for submission is Monday, 15 July 2013. The AIBD TV & Radio Awards are open to all AIBD members.

AIBD announces the extension of the deadline for the call of entry for the AIBD TV & Radio Awards 2013. The new deadline for submission is Monday, 15 July 2013. The AIBD TV & Radio Awards are open to all AIBD members.

The categories are:

1) AIBD TV Award on "The Best TV Programme on the Economic Recession and the Impact on Developing Countries"

With the current crisis with countries facing bankruptcy and needing to seek bailout funding there has been a significant change in the exchange rates for the Dollar, Euro and Sterling. This change alters the spending power of countries for essential materials such as oil, minerals, food and other commodities.

2) AIBD TV Award on "The Best TV Programme on Cross-cultural Exchange"

In an increasingly globalised world, exchanges across and between cultures can be fruitful, unpredictable and eye-opening experiences.

3) AIBD Radio Award on "The Best Radio Programme on Water Conservation"

As 2013 is the UN International Year of Water Cooperation, what steps are countries taking to conserve this indispensable resource?

4) Reinhard Kuene's Radio Award on "The Best Radio Programme Promoting Rural Development"

In some countries there is a move to promote rural life and retrain people to be farmers and other skills necessary for maintaining the legacy of rural existence.   

AIBD is pleased to announce the final winners for the AIBD TV and Radio Awards 2012. The final judging session took place 9 July 2012 at the AIBD office in Kuala Lumpur.

The panel of judges included Ms. Philomena Gnanapragasm, Senior Programme Manager at RTM Radio; Mr. Ahmad Budiman, Producer at Astro Television, Mr. Maxime Villandre, Chief Editor at IGN Asia-Pacific; and Ms. Geraldine Mouche, Programme Manager at AIBD.
 

AIBD TV & RADIO AWARDS 2012

The Presentation of the Winners of the AIBD TV & Radio Awards 2012 was conducted at the Inauguration of the AIBD General Conference in Kathmandu, Nepal on 25 July 2012. The winners were each presented with a certificate, trophy and USD 500 as reward for their special programmes. The trailers for each programme were also presentated to the AIBD members and affiliates in attendance.


 

The presentation of the winners of the AIBD TV & Radio Awards 2013 was conducted at the Inauguration Ceremony of the 39th Annual Gathering and 12th AIBD General Conference & Associated Meetings in Yangon, Myanmar on 12 August 2013. The winners were each presented with a certificate, trophy and USD 500 as reward for their special programmes.

This documentary looks at a Qatari camel herder who heads to Australia to witness the mass killing of camels, considered no longer useful to the state.

REINHARD KEUNE'S MEMORIAL AWARD 2013 on “The Best Radio Programme Promoting Rural Development”

“A Village Rejuvenated”

 All India Radio - India

This programme looks at the Elappully village in Kerala, India, as a positive development model. The village managed to resuscitate its community and living standards to give a good example for rural development in India.
