The Canal France International (CFI), the French operator in media cooperation, in partnership with AIBD, has launched an action programme for Asia, UPWARDS, bringing together international expertise and broadcasters projects.
The programme was officially announced by Mr. David Hivet, Asia/Mediterranean director of CFI at the Asia Media Summit 2013 in Manado.
The aim of the UPWARDS programme is to harness the multiple possibilities offered by technology to provide the tools and expertise needed to build the capacities of channel teams and to develop their activities in the context of the digital revolution.
UPWARDS’s ambition is to support television channels’ projects in order to enable them to meet the expectations of the audience, in particular on educational, cultural, social and community levels, and to implement them under the best possible conditions.
This programme is aimed at any Southeast Asian broadcasters, both public and private, keen to create a new channel, strengthen their output or develop new content.

Call for entry for AIBD Television & Radio Awards 2013
AIBD is calling for entry for the AIBD Television & Radio Awards 2013. The awards are open to all AIBD members. The deadline for submission is 30 June 2013. Winners will be rewarded during the 39th Annual Gathering and 12th AIBD General Conference & Associated Meetings in Yangon, Myanmar from 12 to 15 August, 2013.

Mr. Li Peichun, Deputy Director, English Service, China Radio International (CRI), China says a co-regulation mechanism that governs the media industry has worked in China despite some gaps.
