Cambodia is advocating for an inclusive, responsible & forward-thinking media landscape in the region

The Kingdom of Cambodia would continue its support to the media industry in the region by advocating for an inclusive, responsible, and forward-thinking media landscape.
Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Information of Cambodia, H.E Has Sam Ath assured that the collective efforts will pave the way for a media landscape that not only informs and entertains but also empowers and unites.
“As we look ahead to the much-anticipated event in 2025, whereby Cambodia will host the 20th AMS in Siam Reap, let us carry forward the insights and resolutions from this summit”.
- H.E Has Sam Ath who is also the Vice-President of AIBD General Conference made these remarks while closing the 19th AMS 2024 in Kuala Lumpur on 4th September 2024.
He also echoed that the 19th AMS 2024 has provided a platform for intergovernmental dialogues, enhancing cooperation and setting new benchmarks for the regional media industry.
Throughout this summit, media stakeholders and policy makers have engaged in enriching dialogues, shared groundbreaking ideas, and forged meaningful connections.
The summit highlighted the importance of the responsible use of social media and information. In today’s digital age, the power of media to shape public opinion and influence societal change is immense. As media practitioners, we bear the responsibility of ensuring that this power is used ethically and constructively.
H.E Has Sam Ath also extended his heartfelt gratitude to AIBD, the Government of Malaysia, partners, sponsors, and all the delegations who have made this summit a success.
“Your dedication and passion for the media industry is what drives media development and growth. While expressing his confident that the bonds we have formed and the knowledge we have shared, will steer us towards a brighter and more connected future”, he added.
