AIBD is pleased to announce the opening of call of entry for the AIBD Awards 2018. We are pleased to present this opportunity to all AIBD members and affiliates. Supported by AIBD, this competition will provide the opportunity for television and radio producers to receive international recognition for their work.

The Awards are open in the following two categories:

AIBD TV Award for the Best TV programme on:

Category 1: Youth Mental Health Mental health in youth is becoming a global concern. Social scientists claim that due to drastic changes in cultural norms, lifestyles, technological advancements the situation is getting complex for youth. Stress factors like bullying, technology addiction leading narcissism, early financial pressures, vagueness in life goals are making youth more frustrated worldwide.

This year AIBD awards is focusing on this theme to look at some of the issues in positive context and how media can play a vital role in highlighting the impactful solutions for youth.

 

Category 2: Netizens (Uplifting society through internet) Internet has become the most powerful communication medium offering great possibilities for social changes. With the evolution of internet in terms of speed, interactivity and accessibility, it is creating its own culture thus rising many opportunities as well as challenges.  

AIBD TV Awards is looking forward for impactful stories that how internet is contributing in uplifting the communities as well as how netizens (internet users) are utilizing it as socially responsible tool to overcome various challenges of cyber world.

 

AIBD Radio Award and Reinhard Keune Memorial Radio Award for the Best Radio Programme on:

Category 1: Diversity through Sports: Sports has always contributed towards the unification, integration and cohesion in the societies. With our world becoming a global village, it is necessary to understand that sports is one significant way to gather different communities under one flag, learn from each other’s culture to promote cultural diversity.

 

AIBD Radio awards is seeking interesting and positive stories with a concept of ‘inclusion for all’ in sports thus minimizing the cultural/societal gaps.

 

Category 2: Uplifting communities through Sustainable Tourism: Traveling and Tourism industry is becoming a huge part of economy for many countries, not only as the significant contributor for their GDP but also in respect of uplifting the communities residing within them. Sustainable tourism in its purest sense is about making a low impact on the environment and local culture, while helping to generate income, employment, and the conservation of local ecosystems.We are pleased to present this opportunity to all AIBD members and affiliates. Supported by AIBD, these Awards will provide the opportunity for your television and radio producers to receive international recognition for their work.

 

“The Prize” consists of US$500.00 cash, a trophy and a certificate presented by AIBD per Award topic.Winners and runners-up will be announced during the 44th Annual Gathering / 17th AIBD General Conference & Associated Meetings, to be hosted by Sri Lanka in August 2018.Please note that producers can submit one programmeper topic (limit of four submissions for the four topics) and the deadline for programme submission is 12 July 2018.
