Asia Media Summit 2024

19TH ASIA MEDIA SUMMIT
The Asia Media Summit (AMS) is an annual international media conference organised by AIBD as its flagship event. Every year in consultation with the members, partners and various global media gurus, a theme guides the direction and delivery of the summit. Being a unique broadcasting event in Asia-Pacific, it attracts around 500 top-ranking broadcasters, decision makers, media professionals, regulators, scholars, and stakeholders from within and outside the region. Apart from plenary sessions and pre-summit workshops, Asia Media Summit also provides a platform for intergovernmental dialogues to uplift the benchmarks of the regional media industry.

AIBD/HBF Regional Workshop on Creating Content for Children on the Web

The Regional Workshop on Creating Content for Children on the Web was organised by AIBD with support from Hoso Bunka Foundation (HBF) from 19-23 October in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The workshop brought 7 participants, including producers involved in content production, from broadcast organizations in Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. This workshop aims to train producers on the necessary skills for developing children’s content that can be broadcast through both traditional and online mediums.

The Regional Workshop on Creating Content for Children on the Web was organised by AIBD with support from Hoso Bunka Foundation (HBF) from 19-23 October in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This workshop aimed to train producers on the necessary skills for developing children’s content that can be broadcast through both traditional and online mediums.

During the workshop, the participants learnt how to prepare programmes from the concept stage to execution targeted towards online distribution. They worked the specifications on delivering through an online medium, and how to adapt for a more selective audience, and develop an actual programme concept for further execution. It was conducted by Mr Kalle Furst of NRK, Norway.

The participants were involved in several brainstorming exercises to generate ideas for programmes that can be adapted online. They also split into two groups to present their proposed concepts.
