To keep up with the technological innovations, gain knowledge and empanel more resource persons… AIBD once again took part in Broadcast Asia 2015, which was held between 2 to 5 June in Singapore. The 20th edition of the conference gathered leading broadcast players. It had representation from more than 70 countries and over 16,000 visitors, speakers and exhibitors, all put together.
The booth given to AIBD was set up in a simple way, but had our posters and buntings to attract visitors. AIBD Programme Manager, A Ravi Shankar spoke to the visitors at the booth and explained what the organisation does. Broadcaster Magazines and AIBD brochures were also shared with such visitors.
Ravi also attended some of the sessions and discussions and met with the speakers and experts. Such conferences help AIBD gain knowledge and give new insights in the area of broadcasting. People met during the conference include Ms Daina Middleton from Twitter, Mr Rahul Thapa from Astro and Mr Alan Soon, former Managing editor of Yahoo in South East Asia.
Some of the booths in the exhibition area gave a glimpse of the current technological innovations. Companies involved in creating Drones, Virtual Studios and cloud technology for broadcasting were vying for attention along with traditional companies such as crane makers and lighting experts. LED lights are now replacing the compact cool lights, saving energy and space. Such new technologies and creative ways to tackle current broadcasting requirements were in ample display at the exhibitions.
AIBD’s visit to Broadcast Asia was useful and the organisers of the event want to continue this relationship between the organisations in future as well.
