The Asia Media Summit (AMS) is an annual international media conference organised by AIBD as its flagship event. Every year in consultation with the members, partners and various global media gurus, a theme guides the direction and delivery of the summit. Being a unique broadcasting event in Asia-Pacific, it attracts around 500 top-ranking broadcasters, decision makers, media professionals, regulators, scholars, and stakeholders from within and outside the region. Apart from plenary sessions and pre-summit workshops, Asia Media Summit also provides a platform for intergovernmental dialogues to uplift the benchmarks of the regional media industry.

News Managers in the Modern Media Landscape

Faced with the challenges of converging content on various media platforms, incorporating social media in news stories, injecting a creative spark into the workroom and being able to give constructive and learning feedback to staff, news editors and managers need to become movers and shakers rather than reactors to change in the modern media landscape.

Faced with the challenges of converging content on various media platforms, incorporating social media in news stories, injecting a creative spark into the workroom and being able to give constructive and learning feedback to staff, news editors and managers need to become movers and shakers rather than reactors to change in the modern media landscape.

But how? The AIBD/EBU/CCTV Master Class on “ Leading Change in the Newsroom” that starts today (May 27) in Bangkok will provide learning points to help stimulate editors’ inspiration, boost their level of creativity, and provide them inputs to better grasp the workroom’s challenges and applicable solutions.

This Master Class is an internationally recognized primary training format developed by EBU TRAINING. Henrik Keith, former editor-in-chief and Head of TV News, DR, Copenhagen, conducts the two-day training. He has 18 years of experience in print, TV, radio, web and public information.

Some 36 news editors, producers and head of news departments from 13 countries are attending the two-day workshop.

Part of the program is a discussion on defining the modern media leadership, leading big changes and understanding the 8-step change model, a mechanism for change management.
