19TH ASIA MEDIA SUMMIT
The Asia Media Summit (AMS) is an annual international media conference organised by AIBD as its flagship event. Every year in consultation with the members, partners and various global media gurus, a theme guides the direction and delivery of the summit. Being a unique broadcasting event in Asia-Pacific, it attracts around 500 top-ranking broadcasters, decision makers, media professionals, regulators, scholars, and stakeholders from within and outside the region. Apart from plenary sessions and pre-summit workshops, Asia Media Summit also provides a platform for intergovernmental dialogues to uplift the benchmarks of the regional media industry.

Winners for AIBD Awards 2014 Announced

AIBD is pleased to announce the final winners for the AIBD TV and Radio Awards 2014. The final judging session took place on 14 July 2014 at the AIBD office in Kuala Lumpur. The winners will be awarded at the 40th Annual Gathering / 13th AIBD General Conference & Associated Meetings to be held in August 2014 in Cambodia.

AIBD is pleased to announce the final winners for the AIBD TV and Radio Awards 2014. The final judging session took place on 14 July 2014 at the AIBD office in Kuala Lumpur. The winners will be awarded at the 40th Annual Gathering / 13th AIBD General Conference & Associated Meetings to be held in August 2014 in Cambodia.

The judges panel included Ms. Jacinta Felix, Deputy Director, Contents and Applications, Broadband Management Division, Malaysian Communications And Multimedia Commission (MCMC); Mr. Maxime Villandre, Publishing Director, IGN ASIA, Malaysia; chairperson Ms. Munira Murad, Head of Radio Training at Tun Abdul Razak Institute of Broadcasting and Information (IPPTAR); Mr. Abdull Hadi Yusoff, Executive Producer for TV and Ms. Elaine Cheah, Station Manager of Radio Ai FM at Radio Television Malaysia (RTM); and Ms. Geraldine Mouche, Programme Manager at AIBD.

The panel evaluated a total of nearly 40 entries for the different award categories based on concept and production values. The final award winners are below.

AIBD TV Award 2014 for the best TV programme on Sports and Social Change:

“A SINGAPOREAN ABROAD: KENYAN RIDERS” from Channel NewsAsia, MediaCorp – Singapore

AIBD TV Award 2014 for the best TV programme on Protection of Indigenous Minorities:

“VANISHED TRAILS” from Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation – Sri Lanka

AIBD Radio Award 2014 for the best radio programme on Human Migration and its consequences:

“A EURO VILLAGE IN CHINA” from China Radio International – China

Reinhard Keune Memorial Award 2014 for the best radio programme on Promoting ICTs for Development:

“MORE TO LEARN” from China Radio International – China

The winners will be awarded at the 40th Annual Gathering / 13th AIBD General Conference & Associated Meetings to be held from 13-15 August 2014 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
