AIBD Director Yang Binyuan welcomes some 70 local and foreign delegates to the 2nd International Conference on Broadcast Training (ICBT) which opened on 24 February 2014 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The conference theme is ‘Defining Training for New Media and Social Media’. It covers best practices and common approaches in optimising the use of new media and social media to source and produce content, build and engage audiences, enhance brand trust and generate income.
The two-day event will also draft a framework for a training curriculum on social media use by broadcasters.
Datuk Jailani Johari, Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Malaysia is the inaugural speaker.
In his welcome address, Mr. Binyuan said AIBD is happy to collaborate with Tun Abdul Razak Institute of Broadcasting and Information Malaysia (IPPTAR), the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, Malaysia (KKMM) and FES, and thanked them for their continued support.
“This gathering is testament to our continuing pursuit of creative approaches and innovations to enhance knowledge and skills of broadcasters in Asia-Pacific,” he said.
The two-day conference covers topics such as innovations and trends in new media and social media, engagement and collaboration through training, training tools for social media and effective curriculum models for social media-based training.
