Asia Media Summit 2024

19TH ASIA MEDIA SUMMIT
The Asia Media Summit (AMS) is an annual international media conference organised by AIBD as its flagship event. Every year in consultation with the members, partners and various global media gurus, a theme guides the direction and delivery of the summit. Being a unique broadcasting event in Asia-Pacific, it attracts around 500 top-ranking broadcasters, decision makers, media professionals, regulators, scholars, and stakeholders from within and outside the region. Apart from plenary sessions and pre-summit workshops, Asia Media Summit also provides a platform for intergovernmental dialogues to uplift the benchmarks of the regional media industry.

MEMBER BENEFITS

The Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) offers a huge number of projects/activities annually to its members in all areas related to radio and television covering programming, news, media management, new technologies and media law and policies.

AIBD also provides advisory/consultancy services to its members at a very nominal fee or no charge at all. Such advisory services cover all areas related to radio and television and in particular, deal with new technologies, ICTs, structuring and restructuring of organizations, Internet and media law and policies. It also provides upon request specially designed courses to meet the country’s broadcasting organization’s needs. There is in fact a great deal that AIBD can do to help its members in their human resource development and capacity building.

FULL/AFFILIATE MEMBER

Full membership of the AIBD is confined to sovereign states and they are invited to designate the broadcasting authority of the country to be the beneficiary. Only full members attending the AIBD General Conference shall have the right to vote.

National centers and national institutes of broadcasting and organizations dealing in the main with electronic media, whether publicly or privately owned, may apply for affiliate membership of the Institute, subject to the approval of the AIBD General Conference. Affiliate members shall not have voting rights at the AIBD General Conference.

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER

The procedure for becoming an Affiliate Member is simple. We need a letter from your organization indicating your interest in becoming an Affiliate Member of the AIBD with a brief profile about your organization in order to circulate this information to AIBD full members requesting their approval within 3 weeks. The obligation in becoming an Affiliate Member of AIBD is to pay an annual subscription as stipulated in our confirmation letter.
