Asia Media Summit 2024

19TH ASIA MEDIA SUMMIT
The Asia Media Summit (AMS) is an annual international media conference organised by AIBD as its flagship event. Every year in consultation with the members, partners and various global media gurus, a theme guides the direction and delivery of the summit. Being a unique broadcasting event in Asia-Pacific, it attracts around 500 top-ranking broadcasters, decision makers, media professionals, regulators, scholars, and stakeholders from within and outside the region. Apart from plenary sessions and pre-summit workshops, Asia Media Summit also provides a platform for intergovernmental dialogues to uplift the benchmarks of the regional media industry.

AIBD/UN Collaboration

AIBD is pleased to announce its collaboration with the UN agencies to organize the Pre-Summit workshop on “MDGs: The Final Push – Media’s Role”. The workshop will review the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) ahead of the 2015 deadline and identify priority MDG goals that are still achievable with a ‘final push’, and what role media can play in this. The seminar will assist broadcasters in developing engaging stories on MDGs in their own countries and in understanding how to utilize the UN as a valuable source in this pursuit. The workshop will take place on 28 May 2012.

AIBD/CBA/UNESCO Seminar on Public Service Broadcasting

AIBD will also be working with the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association (CBA) and UNESCO to organize a Pre-Summit Seminar on Public Service Broadcasting during the AMS 2012. The purpose of this seminar is to demonstrate the merits of Public Service Broadcasting (PSB) in Asia. PSB is one of the most important instruments for engaging citizens in the democratic process. PSB is changing in the digital world, creating new possibilities and opportunities for citizen engagement. The concept and practice of PSB is sometimes even misunderstood by broadcasters. This seminar envisages bringing together broadcasters and policy-makers to debate the relationship between PSB, audiences and policy makers in the digital world; focusing particularly on creating an enabling environment for PSB.

AIBD Seminar: Overview on 3DTV Content Creation and Technology

Along with this, AIBD and Broadcast Empire Sdn. Bhd. will organize the seminar “Overview on 3DTV Content Creation and Technology”. They will get hands-on experience to help upgrade their skills and technology to be competitive in this ever-evolving industry. Intended as an introduction to 3DTV production, the one-day seminar will offer a taster of 3D production from a production (pre and post) and engineering perspective.
