Music will be at the heart of this year’s Commonwealth Broadcasting Association (CBA) biennial conference from 11-14 May 2014 in Glasgow, a UNESCO City of Music.
Hosted by BBC Scotland in its state-of-the-art headquarters at Pacific Quay, the 30th CBA Conference will focus on the place of music in broadcasting.
Organisers say it will offer an unparalleled opportunity for senior managers of public broadcasters large and small to network and discuss key issues in public service broadcasting around the world.
Sessions will explore issues such as copyright, music policy, cultural programming, audience engagement and the debate about new platforms for accessing and sharing music, such as the ascendancy of online streaming.
Organisers say the conference will also be a great chance to sample the colour and culture of Scotland in the run-up to the city hosting this year’s Commonwealth Games.
