Internal Audit Training for AIBD Staff
The two day in-house training on ISO & ISAS BCP Standards on Quality Management & Internal Auditing was organised by AIBD with the support of FES on 10 & 11 December 2013. All staff members of the Institute from the directorate, administration, programme, finance and IT departments participated.
The two day in-house training on ISO & ISAS BCP Standards on Quality Management & Internal Auditing was organised by AIBD with the support of FES on 10 & 11 December 2013. All staff members of the Institute from the directorate, administration, programme, finance and IT departments participated.
The training served as a preperartory exercise for implementing internal auditing for 2014. This was due to the fact that AIBD is required to carry-out internal auditing annually by an external auditor in order comply with the requirements of ISO 9001: 2008 and ISAS BCP 9001:2010 standards for its continuous improvement in the Quality Management Certification.
The training greatly helped the staff members who are expected to function as lead auditors in performing the internal auiditing in 2014 to refresh on the Quality Management standards along with its newly added clauses and to familiarise and fine tune their auditing skills.
During the practical internal audits all staff participated actively and were able to identify areas that needed improvement in the management system either on the proceedures or its documentation.

The trainer was Mr Delip Singh from SGS who is an expert in Quality Management systmes and internal auditing. He gave detailed explanation of ISO 9001:2008 and ISAS BCP 9001:2010 quality management system requirements citing various examples. Explanation of the audit cycle from preparation to performing an internal audit included techniques and styles of questioning to reporting on non-conformances and writing of effective reports were done as practical examples.
In his informal closing remarks, Mr Yang Binyuan Director AIBD thanked Mr Delip Singh for sharing his invaluable expertise through this training programme which will greatly benefit the staff of the Institute.
