Sub-Regional Workshop on Media and Good Governance, Almaty, Kazakhstan
The first in a series of Sub-Regional Workshops on Media and Good Governance for Central Asia started on Monday 31st October in Almaty, Kazakhstan for journalists from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Mr Philippe Rochot a veteran journalist from France Television is conducting this 5-day workshop, which will end on Friday 4th December 2011.

Mr Philippe Rochot a veteran journalist from France Television is conducting this 5-day workshop, which will end on Friday 4th December 2011.
Mr Rochot is contracted by Canal France International (CFI) to conduct these workshops for journalists in Central Asia. Mr Rochot said, “I am glad to note the interest of the participants in the topic of Media and Good Governance and they are asking a lot of questions in this area”.
A journalist from JSC Khabar, Nariman Koishibayev said, “These day-lasting workshop are quite informative and practical, providing with an in-depth observance of events which can be a subject for broadcast coverage. Examples are very diverse and include critical thinking and apply democratic values into the discussion”.
The second workshop will be held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan from 8 – 12 November for journalists from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
These workshops are implemented under the UNESCO IPDC project supported by the UNESCO Almaty Office.
