AIBD/ITU/USAID Regional Pre-summit webinar on Cybersecurity and Journalism in the Asia-Pacific
One of the major drivers of global development in recent years has been the rapid advancement of information technology. These advancements, however, have resulted in new challenges for the increasingly connected world.
However, cybersecurity threats and risks are on the rise, with these threats continuing for media organizations. Many media organizations in the Asia-Pacific region are finding difficulty in ensuring efficient cyber risk assessments, including broadcasting organizations facing additional cyber threats. Apart from financial losses, such vulnerabilities are threatening the credibility of these organizations as well.
Linked to the above, there is also a need to further develop technical knowledge and awareness of how to better report on cybersecurity incidents, especially in Asia-Pacific.
Therefore, this webinar aims to raise awareness among media professionals/ broadcasters regarding recent cybersecurity issues, the threat landscape, and how to foster the culture of cybersecurity effectively. Case studies related to remote business operations will be discussed as well by experts.
This webinar will be held on the margins of AIBD’s 17th Asia Media Summit (AMS).
