Submitted by monica on Thu, 09/12/2019 - 11:20

AIMS

How to acquire the skills and technique of Single Camera Production Operations where, instead of editing as usual the scenes are shot in a specific order. The resulting "edit" is therefore already completed when the footage or film are developed. This is because the scenes are shot sequentially and are already in the correct order with no editing other than minor trimming of the head and/or tail of each shot.

WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES

The following are the Content & Learning Outcomes:

• Enhance the skills of ENG Cameraman on camera handling, taking quality shots with minimal editing and unnecessary footages;

• A discipline where ENG Cameramen are tasked to create a video or footage without using an editing programme;

• All footage was taken straight from the camera to a timeline and exported;

• This technique in filmmaking and video production of shooting shots in the exact sequence that they will be seen on the movie theatre, video or television progammes;

• The discipline requires planning in advance what shots will tell the desired story and then shooting only those shots in that order;

• The key is being able to pre-visualize how the event you are shooting will unfold;

• Pre-production preparation work such as video production aids like simple storyboards and scripts;

• Using video production tools will help to layout the exact locations, sequence of shots and camera angles that need to be aware of;

• Making sure that you are in the right spots at the right time, with your camera ready, to get all the footages needed;
