Aims

The aim of this workshop is to provide a holistic experience in the areas of lighting, make-up and set designing. Designed to combine the 3 visual element of production to give a comprehensive understanding of the processes of making a High definition television programme, this two-2 week workshop will be taught by experienced consultants from each respective fields.    

The classes will be conducted in separate classrooms simultaneously, all the participants will join together on the final assignment to display the skills they have picked up from the workshop.

 

Objectives

 

At the end of the workshop the participants will be able to:

Light:

·         Determine and work with Types of Lighting Equipment (Conventional & Intelligent)

·         Conceptualize and plot lighting.

·         Have practical knowledge on single and multiple head lighting.

·         Set-up HD lighting for studio for multi camera setup.

·         Control lights/ creating shadows and measurements.

·         Have practical sessions on various forms of lighting.

 

Set Design:

·         Scene design.

·         Set compositions and elements of design.

·         Compose space and depth.

·         Determine and prepare for the design process.

·         Planning and scheme of production.

·         Plan for stage and LED screen eventuality

·         Have practical knowledge on stage rigging and rehearsal

·         Learn the paint and colour component of stage paints.

 

Make-up:

·         Practical knowledge of how to do makeup for HDTV production.

·         Basics of hair-do and make-up.

·         SD/HD makeup.

·         Examine the importance of make-up application for HD Camera

·         Learn the various methods used for presenter make-up and Character make-up.

·         Learn the various methods on special effects and casualty.

·         Determine the correct usage of make-up check for studio lighting.

·         Preparation of News presenter make-up and stage makeup.

 

 

Profile of Participant

  • Directors/ Producers/ Lighting Technicians (TV)
  • Make-up artists, Television Presenters and anchors.
  • Stage designers/set designers
  • At least three years of experience in television programme production is an essential condition
  • Upper age limit is 45 years
  • Ability to understand, speak and write in English fluently.
