Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) organised a 5-day regional workshop on Engineering Fundamentals for Broadcasters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 03 to 07 December 2018.

During the last decade, Asia-Pacific region has witnessed many horrific natural disasters like Cyclone Haiyan in the Philippines causing 7,415 deaths in 2013, Earth Quake in Nepal causing 8,969 causalities, or recent Indonesian floods in 2020 affecting 400,000 people. Disaster reporting is becoming a significant genre for media organisations, however, many of the reporters are still unaware of the safety standards and many Asian-Pacific media orgnisations does not have an active safety policy.

AIBD Director visits UNU-IIGH

The Director of AIBD, Mrs Philomena Gnanapragasam visited Professor Pascale Allotey, Director of the United Nations University International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH) on 9 January 2020. The visit was a continuation of Director’s courtesy visits to engage international and local partners for future AIBD activities.
