The AIBD General Conference and its associated meetings will be held in Bhutan from 22-24 August, 2019. The President of the General Conference has agreed to the above dates.
The interim director, Mrs. Philomena and the programme manager, Jigme Thinley, made a site visit to Bhutan from 26th to 31st January, 2019. During the visit the two officials from AIBD discussed with the officials of the host organisation, Bhutan Broadcasting Service Corporation (BBS).

Fake News: How Do You Know Which Is REAL or FAKE?
Fake News is fabricated news that is hot but can destroy trust, damage learning culture and create disorder if amplified and spread irresponsibly.
The Radio of the Islamic Republic of Iran in collaboration with Radio Committee of ABU and the participation of Iraninan Universities will host the 14th International Radio Festival and 6th international Radio forum in Tehran in April, 2019. Mr Mahen Alvin is working in AIBD since November 2018 as a dispatcher and driver.
Jigme Thinley joined as a Programme Manager in December 2018. Prior to that he was working as the Executive Producer of Bhutan Broadcasting Service Corporation, the National Radio and Television Service of Bhutan. He has a vast experience in the field of news and production, having worked in radio, online and television.
AIBD in collaboration with its global partners presents the World Television Awards 2019.
The World TV Awards are open to all broadcasters in Asia, Pacific, Europe, Africa, and North & South America from public, private sector and freelance producers.
AIBD officials Ms Philomena Gnanapragasam, Interim Director, AIBD and Mr Nabeel Tirmazi, Programme Manager, AIBD, visited the Royal Kingdom of Cambodia for preliminary meetings for upcoming Asia Media Summit 2019. Both officials landed to Siem Reap where the event will start on 11 June till 14 June 2019. Discussions with the hotel management held in Sokha Siem Reap Convention Center along with the officials from the Ministry of Information Cambodia.
Typhoon 'Hato' and typhoon 'Mangkhut' that hit Macao in 2017 and 2018 respectively have prompted the government agency of Macao S.A.R. to create many 'First Things' to cope with the natural disasters related to Climate Change.
